Oddity U:

Oddity U has been called “The Harvard of Sideshow Schools” (without the cost), and “the world’s best sideshow training” program. Accept no substitutes!

Oddity U provides intensive course in the basics of contemporary sideshow and variety performance.

Currently Scheduled Classes:

Stunts 101:

You’ll learn to:

            -hammer nails into your nose;

            -manipulate and spit fire;

            -lie on a bed of nails, with people standing on top,

             and having concrete blocks smashed on you;

           -walk barefoot in broken glass;

            -walk barefoot on sharp swords;

            -stick hands into animal traps;   

            -swallow swords;

            -etc.

      

Escapes 101:

You’ll learn to:

            -escape from ropes, chains, straitjackets, and other sundry devices     

            -etc.

Scripting for Variety Performance:

            -You’ll learn how to structure your routines and shows.

            -You’ll be introduced to physical acting...ways to use your body to                            

             establish the reality of your performance.

            -You’ll be introduced to the basics of stage direction...how to create

             memorable pictures that will enhance the experience of your audience.

All classes:

            -Discussion includes stunt technique, history, philosophy, and psychology    

             related to the art form.

Private tutorials are available by arrangement.

Upcoming Class Dates: 

COVID has confused many plans. Classes will resume when the pandemic is under better control. Vaccination certificates will be required. No classes will be scheduled in 2021.
